Makalolo Camps –Main Camp and Little Makalolo Camps are one of the few camps built within the Park is located in an isolated remote area of the vast Hwange National Park, legendary for its wonderful array of wildlife and massive herds of elephant and buffalo – especially during the dryer winter months. The camp is set in a unique location, overlooking the Samavundhla Pan – which attracts game in good concentrations.
Little Makalolo Plains Camp accomodation
The Makalolo Plains accommodation consists of nine large spacious and comfortable tented rooms with en-suite shower, toilet and basin – all with hot and cold running water. There is also an outside shower in each tent for those who enjoy showering under the African evening stars. The lighting in the rooms is battery powered – ensuring peace and quiet in camp.

The entire camp is raised on wooden boardwalks and platforms, giving guests excellent views over the waterhole and floodplain in front of the camp.

From signature G&T stops out in the bush, to lantern-lit dinners in front of the camp, to breakfast jaffles and traditional nhopi porridge served around the fire, dining at Little Makalolo is a treat for the senses. Have dinner in the bush hide, where foraging elephants may join you, or enjoy a fresh brunch on the pool deck watching amazing scenes playing out at the pan in front of the camp.
