Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and less-visited wildlife destination in northern Kenya, known for its arid landscapes, dramatic riverine forests, and distinctive wildlife. Covering about 165 square kilometers along the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River, the reserve provides a vital water source that attracts animals such as elephants, lions, and crocodiles. The reserve is also home to the Samburu people, whose traditional culture adds a rich cultural dimension to visits. Game drives are the main activity, with excellent wildlife viewing year-round due to the dry climate and sparse vegetation.
