Sanctuary Swala Camp is set amongst mature acacia tortillis trees around an active waterhole in the remote south of Tarangire in northern Tanzania. The Luxury Camp is a very comfortable and stylish place, with guest accommodation in 12 rooms and providing access to good range of safari activities. In the center of the Maasai country in an isolated corner of Tarangire, in complete isolation amongst the huge acacia trees and looking over beyond the leveled savannah, Swala camp provides a really unique safari experience. The pretty landscape is packed with very old baobab trees, numerous elephants as well as a great profusion of birds. Constructed to top eco-friendly standards, the camp specifically has a particularly low-carbon footprint. Camp’s Bedrooms, bathrooms and Surrounding
Sanctuary Swala Camp consist of (18) total canvas pavilions tainted by high acacia trees and all offer breathtaking views from adjacent water hole. They’re unashamedly lavish and skillfully furnished yet still very close to nature to allow a thrilling night beneath canvas. Each of the tents has a large open arrangement with snug king or even twin beds, lavish sofas plus campaign chairs as well as features an en-suite bathroom having an inside and outside shower for that added touch of luxury. Drink cocktails or delight in tasty dinners right on your private veranda and view the waterhole that normally attracts bull elephants , lions and leopards as your personal attendant serves all your needs. The well-kept infinity pool looks over an adjacent waterhole normally visited by some elephants along with some large cats that are usually seen. The tranquil pool area also presents the best place to enjoy a cocktail drink and loosen up at the end of a game drive inside the park. The dry season starts in June through October as the last month of the dry season, offering the best walking safari conditions and excellent game viewing. Although the park is still lush and green after the long rains, travelling in late June offers rewarding game viewing without the high season prices. The dry season steadily takes hold through the coming months, thinning the vegetation and seeing a large influx of wildlife into the park, creating excellent game viewing conditions.
January conditions continue into February, with the park steadily becoming increasingly lush. Birding is excellent and the weather conditions lend themselves well to photographic safaris.
Children Safari Policy
Olivers Camp welcomes Children over five (5) years older accommodated in family tent on two separate bedrooms.
However we recommend children on safari to be suitable maturely aged children from the (12) years older.
The parents need to be aware of Olivers Camp’s remote location and the high risk of wild animals, which wander through camp day and night inspite of having camp askaris (armed guards) patrolling on duty day and night or evening escorting guests to and from their tent after dark. Oliver Camp have no children programs despite safari Guide tries their best to guide Children in the wilderness. Family hiring private safari vehicles to themselves highly recommended.
